Tennis Betting at Ozoon
The tennis year starts in the first week of January in Australia and doesn't finish until the Davis Cup Finals in late November. Underneath the main tours, the Challenger and ITF events run almost every week, so there's rarely a day without something to bet on. Ozoon prices all of it: ATP and WTA events, the four Slams, Davis Cup ties, and the Challengers and ITFs where most of the season's matches are actually played.
If you're betting from Canada, a lot of this happens while you're asleep. The Australian Open runs overnight Eastern time, the first matches at Wimbledon go on around 6 a.m., and the Asian events in late September and October usually start in the evening and carry on past midnight. Tennis odds today cover every match on the order of play, so the next round is normally priced by the time you check in the morning.
Tennis Betting Lines Explained: Moneylines, Spreads and Totals
Click into any match and you'll see three main lines.
Moneyline
You're picking who wins the match. It's the simplest bet in tennis, but against a big favourite the price can be so short it hardly seems worth it. That's where the spread comes in.
Game Spread
The game spread turns a one-sided match into a fairer bet. Say the favourite is -4.5 games. They have to win at least five more games than their opponent across the whole match, not just win it.
| Result | Games | Margin | Favourite -4.5 | Underdog +4.5 |
|---|
| Favourite wins 6-3, 6-4 | 12–7 | 5 | Wins | Loses |
| Favourite wins 6-4, 7-5 | 13–9 | 4 | Loses | Wins |
| Underdog wins | – | – | Loses | Wins |
Look at the second row: anyone on the underdog at +4.5 gets paid even though their player lost.
Set Spread
Same idea, counted in sets. In a best-of-three match, -1.5 sets means the favourite has to win in straights, while +1.5 on the underdog only needs them to nick a set.
| Final score (best of three) | Favourite -1.5 sets | Underdog +1.5 sets |
|---|
| Favourite wins 2-0 | Wins | Loses |
| Favourite wins 2-1 | Loses | Wins |
| Underdog wins | Loses | Wins |
At the men's Slams, where it's best of five, you'll also see ±2.5 sets, and -2.5 only lands on a 3-0.
Total Games
Over or under a number of games for the whole match. A tie-break counts as one game, so a 7-6 set is 13. Here's how three scorelines settle against a 21.5 line:
| Score | Total games | Over/under 21.5 |
|---|
| 6-3, 6-4 | 19 | Under |
| 7-6, 6-4 | 23 | Over |
| 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 | 31 | Over |
Totals are more about how a match plays than who wins it. Put two big servers on a fast indoor court and you tend to get holds, tie-breaks and a high count. A genuine mismatch can be done in 15 or 16 games.
Live Tennis Betting
Tennis suits in-play betting better than most sports. The scoring gives you a natural pause every few minutes, and the price shifts at each one. Our live betting markets update point by point, with match winner, set winner, next game and live totals running on matches all day.
Read the live line with the surface and format in mind:
| Conditions | How matches play | Reading the live line |
|---|
| Grass and fast indoor courts | Holds come easily | One break usually settles the set, and coming back from a set down is hard work |
| Clay | Returners win far more games and breaks come in runs | A player a set and a break down is often still very much in it |
| Best of five (men's majors) | Longer matches | The better player has time to recover from a slow start |
| Best of three | Shorter, more volatile matches | Where the big upsets mostly happen |
Worth watching mid-match:
- The trainer coming out or a medical timeout
- First serves dropping a few km/h
- A returner standing in and suddenly swinging freely
Tennis Betting Online at Ozoon
Getting a first bet on takes a couple of minutes:
- Join Ozoon and verify your account.

- Go to the tennis board, pick a tournament from the A–Z list or Trending Competitions, and open a match.
- Tap a price to put it on your bet slip, enter your stake and confirm.
What to Check Before You Bet
- Surface: clay form says little about grass, whatever the ranking says.
- Workload: a three-hour match last night or a run through qualifying tends to catch up with players.
- Serve and return stats: hold and break percentages on the right surface beat an old head-to-head.
- Conditions: indoors, heat, wind and altitude all change how a match plays.
- Schedule: a deep run at a 250 the week before a Masters or WTA 1000 is a classic late-withdrawal risk.
Grand Slam Odds and the Tennis Calendar
The four majors are the biggest weeks of the year for tennis betting. We price every round of the main draw, and outrights go up well before each one starts.
| Grand Slam | When | Surface | Betting angle |
|---|
| Australian Open | January | Hard court, Melbourne | The first proper look at who's had a good off-season |
| French Open | Late May to early June | Clay, Paris, and the slowest of the four | The clay-court specialists' best shot at a Slam |
| Wimbledon | Late June to July | Grass, London | Short points and a real edge for big servers |
| US Open | Late August to September | Hard court, New York | Night sessions that often finish after midnight |
Between the Slams, the tour follows the same pattern every year:
| When | What's on |
|---|
| Spring | The European clay swing, building to the French Open |
| Summer | North American hard courts, including the National Bank Open in Montreal and Toronto |
| September to October | The Asian swing |
| October to November | Indoor events, ending with the ATP and WTA Finals |
We also cover Challenger, ITF men's and ITF women's events, along with team competitions like the Davis Cup.
More Tennis Betting Markets
Most tour-level matches also have:
| Market | What you're betting on |
|---|
| Set betting | The exact score in sets, like 2-0 or 2-1 |
| First set winner | Who takes the opener |
| Tie-break in match | Whether there will be at least one tie-break |
| Player props | Aces, double faults and games won, on selected matches |
| Outrights | Who wins the tournament, before and during the event |
| Parlays | Match winners, spreads or set bets from different matches on one ticket |
With this many matches and in-play markets every day, it's easy to end up betting more often than you planned. Setting a deposit limit before you start helps, and our Responsible Gaming page lists the other tools available.
Tennis Betting FAQs
What does +1.5 mean in tennis betting?
It almost always means sets. In a best-of-three match, a player at +1.5 sets wins you the bet if they take at least one set, even if they lose the match. The -1.5 side only wins if the favourite gets through in straight sets.
What does a +4.5 game spread mean in tennis?
The player gets a 4.5-game head start for the bet. If they win the match, or lose it by four games or fewer overall, +4.5 pays. A 4-6, 5-7 defeat is nine games to 13, a four-game gap, so it still wins.
When are tennis odds posted?
Match odds usually go up once the draw is out or the next day's order of play is confirmed, so you'll often see tomorrow's matches priced alongside tennis odds today. Outrights for the Slams and the bigger events are up weeks or months ahead.
Do tie-breaks count toward total games?
Yes. A tie-break counts as one game, so a 7-6 set adds 13 to the total.
What happens to my bet if a player retires or withdraws?
If a player pulls out before the match starts, match bets are void and you get your stake back. If they retire partway through, it depends on the market. Anything already settled, such as a finished first set, normally stands. The full rules are in the Help Centre.
What happens if a match is delayed or suspended?
Your bet stays live if a match is suspended for rain, bad light or anything else, and it's settled once play resumes. If the match is never finished, any bets that haven't been settled are void.
