Esports Betting
Esports betting at Ozoon runs on the same American odds as our NHL and NFL lines, across Counter-Strike 2, League of Legends, Dota 2, Valorant, Rainbow Six and King of Glory, with outrights on the big events. If you can read a hockey moneyline, you can read an esports price.
The part that takes longer to learn is how a match is built. A CS2 series is two or three maps (five in a final), each map is first to 13 rounds, and 12–12 sends it to overtime. Every layer has its own price. That's why esports markets go so much deeper than a final score, and why favourites lose more often than people expect.
How Betting On eSports Works
Think of an esports match as a playoff series squeezed into an afternoon. The format sits next to every match, and it's the first thing to check.
| Format | Wins needed | Where you'll see it | What it means for the favourite |
|---|
| Bo1 | 1 map | Group stages, early Swiss rounds | Most exposed. One bad map and it's over |
| Bo3 | 2 maps | Most CS2, Valorant and Dota 2 matches | The standard. Room for one slip |
| Bo5 | 3 maps | Finals, late knockout rounds | Safest. The better team usually gets there |
Why The Series Length Changes The Price
A longer series gives the better team more chances to recover, so the same edge on a single map becomes a much bigger edge over a series. This table shows a favourite's fair price at three formats, based on how likely they are to win any one map:
| Chance of winning one map | Bo1 | Bo3 | Bo5 |
|---|
| 55% | -122 | -135 | -146 |
| 60% | -150 | -184 | -215 |
| 65% | -186 | -255 | -325 |
| 70% | -233 | -363 | -513 |
Two things follow. A -250 Bo3 favourite is only about -185 over one map, so short prices on Bo1s deserve suspicion. And underdogs in a Bo5 final need far more than one good map to cash.
How Map Bans Change The Map Spread
That table assumes a team is equally strong on every map. They never are. In a CS2 or Valorant Bo3, each team picks one map, bans others, and the decider is whatever's left. The opponent's pick is chosen to hurt you.
Take a favourite that's 70% on its own pick, 70% on the decider, but only 45% on the opponent's pick:
- To win the series: about 68%, or roughly -212
- To win 2–0 (-1.5 maps): 70% × 45% = 31.5%, or roughly +217
If you'd assumed a flat 65% per map, you'd price -1.5 maps around +137. The veto turns what looks like a fair handicap into a bet that's much harder to win. Check the map pool before you take a favourite on the spread, and look for underdogs with one map they rarely lose.
To bet, pick a game from the esports menu, open a match or tournament and click the price. It drops into your bet slip, where you enter a stake and confirm. Our guide to placing a bet covers the bet slip if you haven't used it before.
Esports Betting Markets
Each game has its own objectives, so the market list changes from title to title. These are the ones you'll find on most of them.
| Market | What you're betting on | Example |
|---|
| Match winner (moneyline) | Who wins the series | Falcons -180, FURIA +150 |
| Map handicap | The series score, with a head start | Falcons -1.5 maps = Falcons win 2–0 |
| Total maps | Whether the series goes the distance | Over 2.5 maps = it goes to a third map |
| Map winner | Who wins one specific map | Map 2 winner |
| Round handicap / totals | Margin or total rounds on one map (CS2, Valorant) | Over 21.5 rounds on Map 1 |
| Game props | In-game firsts and objectives | First blood, first Baron (LoL), first Roshan (Dota 2) |
| Futures | Tournament winners | LoL Worlds 2026 winner |
If you learn one market beyond the moneyline, make it the map handicap. A favourite at -400 isn't much of a bet on its own. At -1.5 maps the question becomes whether they can win without dropping a map, and against a team with one strong pick in its map pool, the answer is often no.
Esports Games You Can Bet On
Each game has its own page with full odds. In short:
| Game | Best for | Signature markets | Full odds |
|---|
| Counter-Strike 2 | Volume: the most matches in any given week | Map handicap, round totals, pistol rounds | CS2 betting |
| League of Legends | Newer bettors: slower games, objectives on screen | First dragon, first Baron, total kills | League of Legends betting |
| Dota 2 | Live betting: long games, late comebacks | First Roshan, game length, kills | Dota 2 betting |
| Valorant | Momentum swings and comebacks | Map winner, round handicap | Valorant betting |
| Rainbow Six Siege | Map specialists: sides and operator bans matter | Map winner, round totals | Rainbow Six betting |
| King of Glory | Mobile MOBA fans; priced while its leagues run | Match winner, map handicap | Esports menu |
Live eSports Betting
Esports suits in-play betting better than most sports, because information arrives in clean chunks. Odds update between rounds and after every map, so you can watch Map 1, see whether a team's plan is working, and bet the next map knowing that. You also need to know when you can't bet.
When Live Markets Freeze
| Moment | What usually happens to the market | Why |
|---|
| A round is being played (CS2, Valorant, R6) | Suspended, reopens in the buy phase before the next round | Prices can't keep up with live action |
| Bomb planted | Suspended | Round outcome can change in seconds |
| Team fight, Baron or Roshan attempt (LoL, Dota 2) | Suspended until the fight resolves | One fight can decide the game |
| Technical pause | Suspended until play resumes | Nothing to price, risk of info leaks |
| Map ends | Map markets settle; next map's markets open after the veto confirms | New map, new numbers |
Stream Delay
Tournament broadcasts are deliberately delayed, often by a minute or more, so players can't watch themselves for information. The official data feed that live prices run on is not. That means a price can move, or a market can freeze, before you've seen why on stream. If the odds jump, assume something has already happened.
Every in-play market is on the live betting page.
Esports Betting With Bitcoin and Crypto
Ozoon takes Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash and Tether (USDT), as well as Interac e-Transfer and cards. Plenty of esports bettors already hold crypto, and some prefer to keep their betting balance apart from their everyday banking. Fees and confirmation times differ by coin; our crypto FAQ explains how deposits and withdrawals work.
What To Check Before You Bet
- The veto. In CS2 and Valorant, each team bans maps before the series, and the decider is whatever's left. A team that's strong on six maps can still get dragged onto its seventh.
- The roster. Stand-ins are common. Losing the in-game leader hurts a team far more than losing its best aimer.
- The patch. LoL, Dota 2 and Valorant get balance updates every few weeks. Teams that read a new patch quickly tend to beat their ranking for a while.
- LAN or online. Some teams are much better on stage than from home. Others are the reverse.
- Bo1 favourites. A single map closes the gap between teams, and short prices don't always account for it.
Esports Betting in Canada
Ozoon runs CAD accounts for Canadian bettors, with Interac e-Transfer and American odds on every market. Esports runs around the clock: LCK matches land in the early hours in Toronto, European CS2 in the afternoon, and North American leagues in the evening.
Bet On eSports Responsibly
Esports betting is entertainment, not income. Before a long event like Worlds, which runs for a month, set a deposit limit for the whole event rather than deciding match by match. Deposit limits, session reminders and self-exclusion are in your account settings, and our responsible gaming page lists support services if betting stops being fun. You can also use Self Exclusion to block your account.
eSports Betting FAQs
Can you bet on eSports?
Yes. At Ozoon, esports sit in the sportsbook like any other sport, with match, map, handicap, totals, prop and outright markets on CS2, League of Legends, Dota 2, Valorant, Rainbow Six and King of Glory. The bet slip works the same way it does for hockey.
Which eSports are best to bet on?
The one you watch. Knowing a game well is worth more than knowing the odds. If you're starting cold, CS2 has the most matches, League of Legends is the easiest to follow on screen, and Dota 2 is the best for live betting.
What's the difference between a match bet and a map bet?
A match bet settles on the full series. A map bet settles on one map. You can back a team that loses the series 2–1 and still win your bet on Map 1.
What happens if a match is postponed or a team forfeits?
Ozoon's sports rules cover this. Bets on a match that doesn't start within the set window are usually void, with stakes returned. Check the rules for the specific market.
Can I use Bitcoin for eSports betting?
Yes. Deposit in BTC, ETH, LTC, BCH or USDT and use the balance on any esports market. Interac e-Transfer and cards work too.
