DOTA 2 - NEXT EVENTS
American Odds
Nothing in esports swings like Dota. Games regularly run past 40 minutes, a team can be 15,000 gold down and still take it, and one fight at Roshan can flip a whole series. That makes Dota the best esport there is for live betting, and one of the hardest to call before the draft is in.
We price Dota 2 across the tier-one circuit, from BLAST Slam, PGL Wallachia, DreamLeague and ESL One through to The International: match, map, kill and objective markets, all in American odds.
Valve wound up the Dota Pro Circuit in 2023. Since then independent organisers have run the season, and all of it builds towards The International.
| Event | When | What you're getting |
|---|---|---|
| The International | Once a year, usually August or September | Valve's world championship and the biggest week in Dota, with a best-of-five grand final |
| BLAST Slam | Several times a year | Invited fields of the best teams in the world |
| PGL Wallachia | Several times a year, in Bucharest | Tier-one LANs with a big crowd |
| DreamLeague | Several seasons a year | ESL's long-running series, mostly played online |
| ESL One | A few stops a year | Arena events with strong fields |
The weeks after TI bring the biggest roster shuffle of the year. Lineups are new, nobody has much shared history, and the form guide doesn't mean a lot yet, so the first events of a season are where prices tend to be softest. For the record books, Team Spirit won TI in 2021, 2023 and 2026, the first organisation to lift the Aegis three times. Outrights for upcoming events are on our esports futures page.
| Market | What you're backing | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Match winner | Who wins the series | Spirit -150, Falcons +120 |
| Map handicap | The series score, with a head start | Spirit -1.5 maps: they need a 2–0 |
| Map winner | One game on its own | Game 2 winner |
| Kill handicap | The kill margin in one game | -7.5 kills |
| Total kills | Combined kills in one game | Over 54.5 |
| Game duration | How long one game lasts | Over 39:30 |
| First blood, first tower, first Roshan | Which team gets there first | First Roshan, Game 1 |
| Outrights | Who wins the event | The International winner |
Kills and duration usually move together. Two teams that like to fight early will go over on kills and under on time. Two that farm and wait do the opposite. The draft tells you which kind of game you're about to watch.
People see Dota live odds jump around and assume something's wrong. It isn't. Three things drive it.
Between buybacks, high-ground defence and late-game heroes, a team 10,000 gold up can still lose, and the live price knows it. That's why it stays closer than the net-worth graph looks.
Prices tighten before a Roshan attempt and move hard after it. Markets usually pause during the fight itself.
Tournament broadcasts run behind on purpose, often by minutes rather than seconds, so players can't use them for information. We price from the live data feed, so the odds can move before you've seen why.
If you want to bet Dota live, take a view from the draft on whose heroes get stronger with time, then let the first 20 minutes either back you up or talk you out of it. Every in-play Dota market is on the live betting page.
Early, fight-heavy lineups want it over quickly; late-game carries want time. Bet the shape of the game as well as the winner.
A big Dota patch can turn the meta over in a day. Teams that adapt quickly tend to beat their ranking for a few weeks.
After the post-TI shuffle, last season's head-to-head record tells you very little.
Best-of-two groups play differently from best-of-three playoffs, and a team that's already through will often try something new in game two.
Five long games is a lot of Dota. Some teams fade badly in games four and five.
You'll see plenty of Dota 2 item betting sites in search results. We're not one of them. Bets go on in CAD or crypto and pay out the same way. Interac e-Transfer, cards, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash and Tether all work, and the crypto FAQ explains deposits and withdrawals.
Dota 2 sits alongside CS2, League of Legends, Valorant and Rainbow Six in our esports betting section. If you like MOBAs but want favourites that hold up better, try League of Legends.
Betting on Dota 2 should be fun, not a way to make money. Only bet what you can afford to lose, and take a break if it stops feeling like entertainment. See Responsible Gaming for the tools available, or Self Exclusion to block your account.
Yes. Live markets cover the match, each map, kills and objectives, with odds updating through every game. They pause during big fights and Roshan attempts.
Because the games really do swing. Buybacks, the Aegis and late-game heroes give a trailing team ways back, so a gold lead isn't decisive and the price moves with every big fight.
Dota 2's world championship, run by Valve once a year, usually in August or September. It's the biggest event on the calendar, and outright markets open well before it starts.
No. We take CAD and crypto. Bets and winnings stay in your account currency.
That depends on the market. A three-way market settles on the draw; a two-way market on a best-of-two may be void. Check the market rules before you bet.
