Counter-Strike gives you more to bet on than any other esport. In a normal week there are tier-one matches most days, and during a Major there's barely a gap in the schedule. We price CS2 from the Majors down through IEM, BLAST, ESL Pro League and PGL: match winners, map and round handicaps, totals and pistol rounds, all in American odds.
Looking for CSGO betting? Same game, new engine. CS2 took over from CS:GO in September 2023, the pro scene moved with it, and the tournaments carried straight on.
Two Majors a year anchor the season. Valve sponsors them, teams from every region qualify, and they draw the biggest Counter-Strike markets of the year. Everything else fits in around them.
| Event | When | What you're getting |
|---|---|---|
| CS2 Majors | Twice a year, usually around June and December | 32 teams through three Swiss stages, then an eight-team playoff with a best-of-five final |
| IEM | Several stops a year | ESL's flagship series. Katowice and Cologne are the two every team wants on its CV |
| ESL Pro League | Twice a year | Long group stages, a lot of matches and plenty of early upsets |
| BLAST | Through the year, finishing with the World Final | Smaller invited fields of top teams |
| PGL | Through the year | Tier-one LANs, many of them in Bucharest |
The Majors change city every time. One might be a short hop for the European teams and the next a long-haul flight. Outrights for upcoming events, the next Major included, sit on our esports futures page.
Every CS2 price we put up comes back to how a match is put together:
| Market | What you're backing | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Match winner | Who wins the series | Falcons -180, FURIA +150 |
| Map handicap | The series score, with a head start | Falcons -1.5 maps: they need a 2–0 |
| Total maps | Whether it goes the distance | Over 2.5 maps: you need a decider |
| Map winner | One map on its own | Map 1 winner |
| Round handicap | The margin on one map | -4.5 rounds: 13–8 or better |
| Total rounds | How many rounds a map lasts | Over 21.5: 13–9 or closer, or overtime |
| Pistol round | Round 1 or round 13 | First-half pistol, Map 1 |
| Outrights | Who wins the event | Next Major winner |
Round totals catch a lot of people out. A line of 21.5 has nothing to do with who wins the map; it's a bet on how close it is. Two evenly matched teams on a map neither of them picked will often go over. A favourite on its own pick usually won't.
Money runs CS2. Both teams start each half on $800 and a pistol, and what happens next is predictable enough that live prices are built around it.
Round two usually goes to whoever won the pistol. The other side is saving or force-buying, and an SMG against a rifle is a losing trade most of the time.
Round three is the interesting one. The pistol losers now have their first proper buy, helped by a loss bonus that climbs from $1,400 to $3,400 the more rounds they drop in a row. The pistol winners are often playing out a "bonus" round on the cheap guns they kept, and they lose it more than you'd think. The live line swings back here a lot.
From there it's about who breaks whose economy. Win two or three while the other team is short of money and they can't buy rifles, and five or six in a row is very possible. When you're betting rounds live, ask who can afford a full buy next round, not just who the better team is.
Live markets update between rounds. They're suspended while a round is in play, again when the bomb goes down, and through any technical pause, then reopen in freeze time. Map markets settle at the end of each map, and the next map opens once the veto confirms what it is.
One thing to know: tournament streams are delayed on purpose, so players can't watch themselves for information. The data feed we price from isn't. If the odds jump and you can't see why on stream, something has already happened. Every in-play CS2 market is on the live betting page.
Five things we'd look at before any CS2 bet:
Whose pick, whose ban, which decider. Teams that are good on six maps still get dragged onto the seventh.
Plenty of maps lean CT or T. Start on the strong side and you tend to build a first-half lead that's hard to claw back.
A lot of teams are built around one sniper. If he's off form, or a stand-in is holding the AWP, the whole team plays differently.
Early Swiss rounds are one map, and they go against the favourite more often than the prices suggest.
Majors and big LANs move around the world. Teams that have just crossed several time zones often start slowly, so give them a day before backing them heavily.
Search for CSGO betting and most of what comes up is skin gambling and case opening, where the stake is an in-game item. We're a sportsbook. You bet CAD or crypto on real match results and get paid out in the same. Interac e-Transfer, cards, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash and Tether all work, and the crypto FAQ covers deposits and withdrawals.
CS2 is one part of our esports betting section. If you like the round-based format, Valorant is the nearest thing to it.
Betting on CS2 should be fun, not a way to make money. Only bet what you can afford to lose, and take a break if it stops feeling like entertainment. See Responsible Gaming for the tools available, or Self Exclusion to block your account.
Yes, under its new name. Counter-Strike 2 replaced CS:GO in 2023 and every pro team moved across. Same teams, same events, same markets.
No. We take CAD and crypto, not items. Your bets and winnings stay in your account currency.
Your team has to win without dropping a map: 2–0 in a best-of-three, or 3–0 or 3–1 in a best-of-five.
On most round markets they do, which is why overtime maps almost always go over. A few markets settle on regulation only, so check the rules before you bet.
Twice a year, usually one around June and one late in the year. The organiser and host city change each time, and outrights open well before the first match.
